WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
From 1st July 2007, the UK’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations came into force giving Consumers the opportunity to deposit old electrical items for recycling.
All new Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) are now marked with this ‘crossed-out wheeled bin’ symbol to encourage us all to segregate WEEE from other household waste and take it to the local council site for recycling.
To find your local recycling site, please click here. To recycle your used batteries, type your postcode into the recycle-more bank locator to find where you can recycle your batteries.
You can find out more about recycling (including WEEE) at the consumer website www.recycle-more.co.uk
