To bra or not to bra? That is the question!
This season, inspired by the catwalk, showing off your décolletage and shoulders is super sexy, but cut out creations can cause problems in the bra department. Visible bra straps are not a good look when your outfit is all about showing a little skin.
The easiest option is to go without but for some of us stepping out without the right foundation wear is not an option. Here’s our guide on the best bra to help you stay stylish, sexy and supported this summer.
TREND: THE BARDOT NECKLINE
A firm favourite this season the Bardot neckline is super flattering and easy to wear, showing off your shoulders and collarbones, whilst keeping your upper arms covered. However, channelling off the shoulder chic doesn’t look great with unsightly bra straps showing. You never see its namesake Brigitte Bardot with visible straps.
A good old strapless bra is the answer to this problem, giving you good support with no visible straps. With a strapless bra it’s important to get the fit right, as providing the back is just tight enough it should support your bust from underneath, whilst giving you a superb shape and great structure. If you want to feel a little bit more secure why not try a corset style bra providing extra support through your torso?
If your top or dress has a sweetheart neckline opt for a plunge style. Or if you want a bit of uplift try a balconette, which will lift your bust for a more spherical shape, perfect for tops with a straight across finish or higher neckline.
TREND: THE COLD SHOULDER
The cold shoulder is a super-hot trend for summer. With peek a boo sleeves, cute cut outs and sexy slits this trend is all about showing just a little of your arms. Super flattering and great for all ages the cold shoulder is a must have for Summer 2017. However, cut outs just that little bit too close to your straplines can be a pain.
Again you can opt for a great fitting strapless bra or with some styles a Multiway is the perfect option. This style of bra is great as you can attach straps to the sides that are covered to provide extra hold and support. These bras also sometimes have clear straps to make you feel that bit more secure without them being really visible. Highly versatile this bra will also work with racer backs and halter necks.
Another alternative if your cut out has a low neckline is to opt for a plunge style which will keep you firm and secure, whilst showing off your assets.
